FAQ

What is the best Niagara Falls webcam?

EarthCam — The Falls Cam is the most popular and highest quality (HD livestream from the Fallsview Casino tower pointed at the Horseshoe Falls). For the high-angle shot capturing both the American and Horseshoe Falls in one frame, the Hilton Fallsview cam streams from 33 floors up. SkylineWebcams runs a smooth HD video feed with no signup. All free.

Is the Niagara Falls webcam live?

Yes — all the cams listed are genuinely live (not pre-recorded loops). EarthCam, SkylineWebcams, and earthTV stream at proper video frame rates. Clifton Hill and the Hilton Fallsview cam refresh frame-by-frame every few seconds. None are pre-recorded clips.

Can you see the falls illuminated on the webcam at night?

Yes. The EarthCam Falls Cam, Clifton Hill cam, and Hilton Fallsview cam all capture the nightly illumination (sunset to 2 am). The colors cycle every 15 minutes through a programmed sequence — pure white, blue, green, red, purple, gold. Best color saturation 9 pm – midnight.

What is the audio on the falls webcam?

Most cams are video-only. EarthCam offers an audio livestream of the falls roar in some of their feeds. For the full experience the audio is best in person — the sound is part of why people keep coming back.

Why does the webcam show fog or mist?

The mist is real — the Horseshoe Falls produces a constant plume of spray that rises 30-50 m above the brink. On cold days the mist freezes and you can see ice formations on the cam. Heavy fog days mean the falls are hidden by a wall of moisture, and the cam will look essentially gray-white. Dry, sunny mornings have the clearest cam views.
